Cory Fernandez’s comedy career began when he met Ashy Larry from Comedy Central’s “Chappelle’s Show.” Ashy Larry turned out to be Donnell Rawlings, who took Cory under his wing by introducing him to other comedians in the New York area.
In his first year of pursuing stand-up he landed a five-week stint on BET’s “Coming to the Stage,” beating out 1,000 other comedians for the spot. Shortly after, he appeared in Laffapolooza hosted by Jamie Foxx. He also performed in the Teens of Comedy Tour with Brandon T. Jackson.
When Cory is not doing comedy, he takes acting classes in New York City where he resides.
